Above ground swimming pools
Above ground swimming pools are the second most popular type of swimming pool, if you have limited space or a limited budget then an above ground pool is certainly a cheaper alternative to an in ground swimming pool.
Above ground pools are typically made of steel, aluminum or resin and although most people would prefer a professional swimming pool installer, above ground pools are made from prefabricated swimming pool kits that can be put together by an amateur. So if you feel you could accomplish such a task imagine how much money you could save not getting an installer.
Which Pool is right for me?
When deciding which above ground swimming pool is best ask yourself the following questions:
- The Pool height - The height of above ground pools vary between 48” – 54” (4ft – 4.5ft) tall. If you enjoy using a pool for swimming I would recommend a 54” tall pool, plus if you buy a pool at this height you have the option to fill it to less than 54” high.

- Ease of installation – some pools are harder to setup compared to others, when browsing through suppliers websites see if they offer installation manuals or videos, this is a great way of judging if you need to install it yourself.
- Price – of course price comes into most buying decisions but never sacrifice price for quality, if price is an issue look for a brand that offers a good warranty
